After reading story after story, I'm starting to believe my newly acquired 92 9kt hatch may be a better parts donor for my 89 CDt than a fixer-upper! Seems like this TCS/ABS system is a real gem of a system! You pretty well have to have your own ISAT system to keep it maintained. Any thoughts before I start stripping it for parts? Seems a shame, low miles, great body and leather, 5spd. What do you guys think? Is there anyway of clearing codes without the ISAT system? Cheers!

Isat/Tech2 is the only way to properly diagnose/maintain/repair the finnicky tcs system...instead of parting it why not try to convert it to non tcs...its not that big of a job if your somewhat mechanically inclined and not afraid to get your hands dirty a bit.

hi.persevere and find someone who has the ISAT/Tech2 to clear the codes.if you want to go to the trouble there is a Tech2 with connectors for OBD2/OBD1 on sale through eBay for about $Au1600--$US1700--(i would buy one but haven't the funds at the moment!!!!) currently. i have the abs/tcs light coming on every time i brake then goes off after about 3-5seconds.annoying but isn't world changing.this is on a '94 9k aero manual.my mechanics shop tell me it's a faulty or dirty sensor on a drive wheel-rh or lh, not sure. as i said not world changing.love that car.cheers

Well then...I guess I'll be looking for a 91 for parts. Thanks for the info, I'm certainly capable as long as I can find a donor car. thanks again!

Hello autoaddict I am going through the same thing. The good news for you is that it Looks like the 92 is much easier to convert than the 93. There is some posting on Saablink about the subject.
Best of luck steve |
