Wanted: Saab 9-3 Sid 2 for a 2001

Looking for one that is in working condition or someone that has the proper tools and expertise to fix them. I opened mine and half the ribbon fell off and it is corroded and half are barely there. I would rather buy a working used one or have someone replace the ribbon with the proper tools and the silver ribbon over the standard copper ones.

BBA reman did mine quickly and for less than a used unit I have a lifetime warranty. That said, there may be one available here locally - I'm waiting to hear back.

just purchased an exchanged off ebay from BBA. An exchange was $10 more than a repair and only $69. Good deal as i had just a few pixels lit and then i went to open it hoping it was an easy fix and ended up pulling the whole thing off it was soo brittle. I tried my soldering iron quick and some tape but it didnt work, nothing was damaged on the board but the ribbon melted abit. I doubt they will hassle me as the whole unit and board are in mint condition. and i used alittle alcohol wipe to clean off the tape smudge. I was reading other repair/exchanges like Kramer and they wont take it if you tapered/tried to fix it. Hopfully BBA works out as i would like to have a working Sid 2 in my new car. Im used to the Sid 1 in my NG 900 and i would like to experience the upgrade to the SID 2.

Do you know if BBA replaces with a silver ribbon or do they use the standard copper ones. I forgot to ask that question.
