Better than the cellphone pics I posted....
Finally found some SS wheels in gunmetal, 18". 225/45 Continental ContiExtremeContacts. Love the way they look on the car! Handling is greatly improved too. ![]() ![]()

I do like the look, great pics.
That's a size I've not tried. When I first fitted 18s to mine I had 225 40 tyres and these sucked on the car, I then changed to 235 40 and it was transformed.

I'd love to go low! Unfortunately I need to keep the smooth ride. Back surgeries start soon.
I gained a 1/4" in height over the stock rims/tires but it looks a lot bigger than that. Not too pleased about the jacked-up look but I like it more than I hate it so I guess I'm ok with it The tires.... these came on the rims when I bought the rims. Really happy with the tires. I'd like to have 235/40 but will probably end up going with 235/45. Removed the graphics today. The rolling charity billboard will be redesigned and applied next spring. Also debadged the trunk. I love it. Can't figure out why I waited to do it!

And somehow I forgot to say it.... Thanks for the compliments guys
A lot of my friends have said they had no idea the rims were from the Cobalt SS. That on a Saab they just look like a factory option or a high-end wheel. I agree. I think they really enhance the look of the car. Such a drastic change from the ugly stockers.

The lift isn't noticeable at all. You need some side skirts, a lip and the rear valance painted to match. That'll tie it all together and make it look lower at least! I love the wheels!
I have side skirts in my basement waiting for my lazy *** to make them go from black to white.

Completely agree with the lip, skirts, valance. That's just further down the list than other things. Don't really want to do too much to her. Exhaust and tint left.... that's bout it. Swap the flash-to-pass and fogs to HID. FMIC. ....Forge..... Grr. I'd rather save the money for the next Saab, lol. We'll see what happens.

And those SS wheels are pretty cheap, even new! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/18-OE...item3a5e069a5d $400 for a brand new set of 18" wheels? I think that sounds like a deal to me! Just 18 is too big for me.

Thanks, and I do agree with you. No Aero suspension plus the extra 1/2" diameter (so 1/4" taller) makes it sit pretty high. I'm happy with how it handles though. Only downside is the tram-lining from the Contis.
The roads around here are so crappy that it's kind of a blessing. Blew out a stock tire last winter on 1 of the MAIN roads through town. Frost-heave burst the sidewall. There's certain main roads through town where if you do the speed limit you'll bottom out, anytime of the year. I really don't know how the kids in their cut-spring Hondas do it
