Ive been researching transmission and was wondering if the AF40-6 would be capable of swapping into my 2000 aero. Seems like it can handle a bit more torque.

um... if you're going to swap why not put a 5 spd manual trans in??? Good for more power/tq than any slushbox is going to reliably handle.

1: less parts to swap in/less work
2: its a daily driven car in New York 3: faster shifts with with the auto = less boost drop between gears

...seemed you were the one who was worried about the trans handling more torque, hence why you'd want to go with the manual. You can't always have your cake and eat it too. Do you want a tranny that shifts for you and doesn't lose boost between shifts? Or do you want a tranny that is going to hold up to abuse and handle loads of torque?

I have right beside me a rare F40 manual gearbox that mates to the B2x4/B2x5 engines...complete with gear lever and cables
some might say it`s a rarity...I had two, one is on my project car (Viggen conv.). an automatic would not fit the engine, thus needing to fabricate a mounting plate/cut & weld the gearbox housing

Some skilled hands, since the retrofit is not a simple project. Further more, the shipping would require carefull hands while hauling it over the Ocean....

question: to swap in the 6 speed auto I would mainly just need the interior bits, cable and trans control unit right?
