Exclamation Turning flywheel need to know flywheel step specification!ASAP

I'm installing an aero clutch and pressure plate to my stage 3+ 1999 9-5 And I need to know the height specification for turning the clutch surface compared to that of the pressure plate. Also can i lighten this flywheel or is it balanced with the crank like some other saab models??

Lots of questions here, the aero clutch is the same height so it goes right in no surfcae needs to be removed on the LPT cars. its a direct swap to upgrade

Yes you can lighten it if its the flywheel from that car just reinstall in the same orientation. If not I woudl recommend ballancing it

I know they are the same size clutch/pressure plate... however the flywheel had wear and I want a fresh surface. Inturn I need the surfacing height. As for the flywheel i've heard there was a model of saab that can't be balanced without the crank (as a full assembly) I assume it isn't this model.

no you don't need to balance it but put it back in the same orientation, like I said. If your flywheel is not scores, just lightly rouch it up to take the glaze off.

He wants his flywheel resurfaced...its used is what he's saying. I have a book at my job that has the step spec for all the flywheels but I wont be able to check until tuesday. Where ever you take it to get resurfaced should be able to get the spec for you.

Well actually I work in a machine shop... we just don't have the spec for saab and ALL DATA DOESN'T either... The flywheel was set at .313" step when I pulled it out of the car so cut it to .311" I also lightened the flywheel a bit roughly a pound or so (in the process of balancing it now) and am about to weigh it... however I forgot to weight it BEFORE I started lathing it. Anyone know the stock weight of a flywheel? I'm guessing around 26lbs.

Yea, I checked also, no info on it, as with alot of Saab stuff. The weight I am not sure of.
