Default Warning light, engine malfunction 95T

Anyone help with this. 95T linear 2001 145000 Klms.

Yesterday the engine malfunction warning light came on unexpectedly. The car didnt go into limp mode.
Checked the oil, water, etc, its drives ok, no change at all, no fluids leaking or anything, no blowing smoke, tempreture gauge ok and everything seems to be working as normal just the warning light still comes on when i started it this morning again and dosnt go off.

Thanks for any help.

You need to take it somewhere and get the codes read that are causing the light to go on. Check the FAQ or post them back up here for help.

Cheers, i'll do that tomorrow to the local saab dealers.

Funny thing, just messing around with it today, i disconected the battery, reconected it again and the things now working ok for some reason. I'll still take it in though to get it checked , i think they can put it on a diag machine or something. History tells me these things rarely go away on their own.

Thanks

Default Check Engine Light (CEL)

Depending on how long you had the battery disconnected, there may NOT be any codes stored in the computer. It is best that you get them read when the light comes on. The CEL usually takes a few error repeats before it sets. If the error condition is still there and recurred, then there will be a code.

Up here, some of the auto parts stores will let you borrow their code reader (after holding your driver's license) and get the codes for you. You can always ask your local store if they have readers.
