Does anyone else have a problem with the site running dead slow?
When I log in, even the text I type is not immediately appearing on the screen as if there is huge lag. This also particularly noticeable during the registration process where I made several typing errors and had to start over because of this problem :-/ I have blisteringly quick internet and a very fast machine, and as a member of several other forums and a moderator in two of them, this site is the only one Im involved with that seems to have a definate 'lag' particularly when logging in |

Moi aussi ...
Ken, I do apologise I meant to come by last week to wish you Happy Birthday .. Trust all is well with you and yours.. I've sort of retired from all things SAAB except for my car Am so disillusioned with the Trollhatten situation and don't have the energy to start a new Save Saab campaign. Even SWade with his new position is pretending to be an ostrich ! Anyways .... I came here to wish you a belated Happy Birthday. David.

And from the Earthworm to Ken - happy birthday Now, a good question, has any brand(other than Harley-Davidson) ever emerged from the scrap-heap stronger than ever ?? GM was close, very close.. I'd love to see Saab survive..... but, if they do not................ TWWNE. BTW, our internet is slow, all sites, some worse than others, and I know not why.......

The internet is slow lately. I have been having complaints on a lot of sites. Also facebook is being a slow poke. If you installed EI9 on your computer i have found this has been a common factor in the slowness.

This is really odd - when logging in, typing in my username and password is slow - sometimes the letters/numerals dont appear and I have to hit the key more than once sometimes up to three times before it appears. I have no problems with any other forums or sites, yet here I am at work on the worlds slowest machine with a lousy connection and it works fine. Both machines I'm using Firefox (I haven't tried IE yet).
Once logged in on the home machine everything is good - no probs writing posts at all - it seems its just the log in

American English French The slow poke is an tepid individual, one who consumes excessive time to do less than he should.. I like David's definition E19 can be anything, computer-wise, its something ??? Facebook, I am "on" this thing ,whatever it is, as are 500 million others; IMO, its a waste.

The is the European route 19. 551 km long and its route begins in the Netherlands, and ends in France, via Belgium. All Saab Saabista know it as it is the route from Huy to Paris It may have some other computor connotation but .. so what As for facebook ... I avoid it like the plague. There is a French version but it's not my thing.

Sorry i did mean Internet Explorer 9
If you are having an issue logging in few questions. 1. Why are you logging in every time? the site should remember you and automatically log you in. 2. are you using the home page or the forum page to log in? If the site is being slow for you in any other area, let me know what page and around what time, and how often this is happening. |

The site has only become dog-slow since it was sold.
I thought the problem was so bad I started my own forum. I've been a member of this board for about a million years so sorry to leave. But there ya go. I didn't feel particularly happy about my thoughts being sold to an advertising corporation. |

Oh, and in case anyone was wondering... the trojan horse above is not me. I know a couple of other Saab boards have sprung up recently. None of them are as good as mine though!

If anyone wants to know who started this topic then I think we've just got our answer.
He is registered on my forum as well. Making all the same sorts of comments. I've asked him to say who he is several times... good genuine members of forum communities usually know who each other are. He says he's been involved with forums for many years so I'm sure I will have heard of him at some point in the past. I may have even met him. He is a UK citizen and that's the most I know. Technically he's incorrect anyway. The new forum I've helped setup is fantastic but trying to get people to use it is like banging your head against a brick wall. For some reason people prefer loads of advertising, poor features, difficult to use software and slow running. People just can't be helped sometimes. Honestly, the turborip logic is that a new forum should have 10,000 users from the beginning and there would be no growth process. In order to make it happen people have to choose to sign up and contribute. It's the only way. |

2+2=5, Sorry Emmett Trenchfoot isn't me, he posts on here and other forums, but obviously not on Emmett World.
It looks like your post stating that those on other forums "will eventually be whittled down to a couple of moderators enthusiastically posting to try and make the forum look busy." has come back to haunt you as your are in that situation yourself now on Emmett World and have to take the desperate measures of posting on here, slagging this forum and trying to poach members from this great site |
