Default Ford Eco-Boost vs Saab Tech

Opinions?

It's surprising to see the advances Ford is having with turbocharger technology. The doors they are opening are many. The F-150 is already outperforming a number of other v8 pickups by huge margins.

I'm excited about the new 1.9 9-3s and the implementations of eXWD but I really hope when SAAB gets back on it's feet we can see a powerhouse performance line from them as well.

Oh has the 1.9 been confirmed? I still think a 2.0 is too small for the car even with a turbo

I don't think anything has been confirmed but I think you're referring to the 1.6l turbo.

The SHO is just huge, so I'm not terribly surprised.

I think the Ecoboost engines are pretty good overall. I am definitely going to consider a next-gen Focus ST.

I'd like to test drive a Hyundai with that turbo 4. Those are impressive stats...curious to see how it drives.

If they put it in the Veloster or give it about 200HP, you'd be hard pressed to make me choose a saab over it.

2,500lbs + torquey turbo engine anyone??

Here's hoping the next 9-3 comes in under 3000 lbs.

Wow, those are really good numbers for a 2.0, plus those new Hyundais aren't as hideous as before.

Im also looking forward to seeing the ecoboost in the new fusion. The Sports Fusion modeling really caught my eye. Plus I'm sure aftermarket would be abundant.

I always strongly believed that Ford should have put an ecoboost 4cyl in the "base" Fusion with the 6 speed manual trans. I would rock that car, for sure.

Of course, I wouldn't complain with their V6 ecoboost either...just so long as we get a manual tranny

The ford will probably beat it in most ways, including gadgetry. I hear the buick has been soundproofed very well, not that elders can hear much to begin with...

The Regal is one class higher than the Focus. The new Buick Verano (basically a tarted up Chevy Cruze) will be somewhat a Focus competitor:

Gosh that Verano is all over the place. None of the linings of the body flow with eachother. That rear end is pretty hideous too. Just my opinion though.

I agree. The back is terrible. And what's with the goofy chrome deals on the hood?

A friend of mine just bought a 2012 Focus, tonight in fact. Looks pretty good...but I don't think it's the turbo one...don't even know if that is out yet?

Turbo model isnt out yet to my knowledge. The goofy chrome accents are GM's attempt at fake hot air tranfers (Or whatever they are called).

I'm not a big fan of the sedan or hatchbacks rear end of the Focus either. Tailights are oversized on the Sedan and the Tailights are too long and oddly shaped on the Hatch. Seems like ford cant really put a nice rear end together for many of their cars. The fusion is the only car in my opinion that has a nice setup.
