It might not be a big deal - often this message comes up as your battery gets older.

Short term, jiggle the steering wheel and try again, this sometimes helps. Try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes to let the computers reset, and/or put a battery charger on it for a little while if you have one.

Long term, maybe go to a shop or autozone and get the battery checked out.

I had the same issue after my tie rod ends were replaced on my car. After about 2 weeks it just cleared itself up and now I no longer have the problem.

Edit: I just want to make sure I read correctly, you can still turn your key and start the car correct?

Yeah sounds like the batt has passed on. Also check the batt cables for corrosion. My car did the same thing back in march. Turned out to be very corroded batt cable.

Yes, sometimes, mostly . The computer and starter seem to get flakey when the battery is low. Locks, lights, radio etc might seem just fine.

It doesn't matter. My car started fine and everything worked properly but once those messages start appearing on your SID, your battery is dying. The dealer explained that Saab's have many electronics that continually go one once the car is turned off. It is time for a new battery.

Your battery still has voltage, but it doesn't have enough amperage to power the starter motor - the single largest power draw. Time for a new battery.

Hi there,
I had the same exact problem happen and it turned out to be that they needed to replace the ignition switch. I think it was around $500 if I remember correctly.
