Front bumper, OEM worthwhile?

Hello,

I will be replacing my front bumper, and wonder if there are worthwhile aftermarket options I should consider. An OEM one is expensive enough, so I'd like to know my options.

There aren't any aftermarket options that i know of. You could go oem 9-3 or maybe Viggen, as some do. But that's really it.

I would imagine they'd be pretty expensive OEM. I would try to find maybe someone on here who is parting out their car, or you could contact a salvage yard. You can get some pretty good deals on cars that are being parted out, with usually perfectly good parts. (say, a car that was totaled in a rear end collision.. the front bumper could be perfect and you could buy it at a steal.) Just my opinion. Good luck!

Check www.car-part.com. It's a nationwide junkyard search, and you can usually pretty find some pretty amazing parts prices on there, even locally.

Also, if you have the space and the ambition, this site sells totaled cars for cheap.. you can get some cars with like a rear end collision or just a crapshoot engine that barely runs for like 200 bucks. Cars with minimal damage that because of our saab's terrible resale value, just opt to junk the car.

An example of one near boston: the bid is at 400 bucks, and the only thing listed at fault is "normal wear." just a stock 9-3 with some engine wear.. Body looks great, but I don't know what color your car is. Probably not you're ideal option if you're just looking for a bumper, but worth a thought.
