Default center console power outlet not working.

the other day i went to go use my ipod and i find that it's almost dead. this struck me as weird since it is pretty much permanently plugged into the socket in the center console. after much testing out, i found that the socket is dead, and the bulb that is adjacent to it is burnt out. are these connected? if so how can i replace the bulb? its completely enclosed.

help would be appreciated.

Could be coincidence, but you might also want to check your fuses. (I dont know which one it would be, but a test light, or volt meter can find out quickly)

As far as how to replace a light, honestly I have so much **** in mine I didnt know there was a light in there

I have the same problem. My center console outlet is dead, but the one next to the flip down tray works fine. I didn't know there was a bulb in there either

If anyone has a way to fix it then I'd definately like to know too.

To replace the bulb and check the wiring, you literally need to yank out the unit, it kinda pops out. Behind will be 3 wires, 2 going to the socket and 1 to the bulb. To remove the bulb, you need to push in some clips. I replaced mine with a green led (and ran a resistor on the wire that powers it) as it'll last longer
