I am checking with a company that might make a complete Silicone hose kit for the 16v 900 and 16v turbo 900
the kit would have all Vacuum hoses and radiator hoses in full silicone pre molded and for the turbo all intercooler couplings ...I just need to see if anyone would be interested in them... they are manufactured from knitted polyester fabric, reinforced with silicone rubber and offers superior resistance to temperatures up to 350 deg. F.colors are red ,blue ,yellow and black

yeah, but how much? might be interested, its freaking hard to get some of those hoses at local parts stores, itd be nice not to have to worry about it for a while. but as always, depends on the price.

well, it does all depend on the cost. the cost depends on the tool up capital and the marketing costs for the people producing the product vs. the quantity they can sell.
i'd like some of this stuff, personally. it may even be worth their while. i don't think i've seen this available anywhere. has anyone else? for that matter, does anyone else have a line on replacement vacuum hoses at all? this parts market might have a hole in the supplier offerings. higher quality hoses - that look really cool - could certainly get a premium. there could be a good number of classic 900 owners that'd buy the hoses. perhaps market directly + website + wholesale to the other saab specialty parts outlets. throw in some ebay auctions for that matter. it.... could.... WORK! anyway, somebody find me some cool vacuum hose replacments - thanks. |

Agreed, cost will be a huge factor. And until silicone hoses become the rule rather than the exception premium prices will be charged.
But I must say that I am interested. |

I'd be seriously interested in a blue set, providing the cost isn't silly.

Yeah, I'd be most interested too. In addition to cost, it would also be rather important to know if the hoses would have outlets for turbocharger bearing house water cooling, as most 16V Turbos will have a water cooled turbo...

I looked into this with Samco and SFS, for it to be worthwhile for either company they'd need to make and sell around 40 sets. IIRC there was about 12 people seriously interested last time.

just shop ebay and buy more than you need, cut it down, and youve saved alot. as for the smaller hoses, i havent seen them in anything but a set.

Heya,
Cost pending... I'm in for a complete set of Red hoses. Thanks! Taylor (PS. Does anyone know the prices of what these kits *usually* run for a car that uses around the same amount of materials, etc? It would be a good price to keep in mind if so.) |
