Default Fuel pump or Fuel pump assembly

If your fuel pump goes is it a good idea to replace the whole assembly or is just replacing the fuel pump fine. I am looking for any feedback that I can get on this topic it let me sit yesterday and I need to know what to get asap.

Replacing just the pump is cheaper, and works fine. You can get the original pump from NAPA and make it work fine

I second, go with just the pump. Try to get a Walbro pump, the OE.

How many miles did you get out of the pump?

A last note, you may need to replace a section of the fuel line in the assembly. Also buy stainless clamps. You will find good instruction in earlier posts.

Default assembly

I ended up buying the whole assembly. The car was towed to my grandfathers junk yard and he wanted to replace the whole assembly. Time is short with two young kids so anything to save time will help. Car has 170,000 on it dont know if the fuel pump was ever replaced it has been starting hard when low on gas for the last year. It would be nice if this fixes all my missing issues as well.
