black smoke coming from exhaust!!!

Hi guys, after many years of nagging the wife she has eventually let me have a saab, bought myself a 95 se on a 2001, 118,000 miles, seems in good in nick except i have just notice that i a have black smoke coming from the exhaust, only just started doing it. there was a little bit of smoke coming from exhaust when i changed gear and now its all the time. any suggestions would be great.

I had black smoke when my turbo packed in. Are you getting any noises?

Black smoke would suggest a rich running condition.

no noises, just a bit worried how much its gonna cost to get sorted???
