Default Clicking noise when I open door

Just bought a 2004 9-3 Arc
Convertible. When it sits for a while and I go to unlock the door both with the Remote and when the key, I hear a clicking noise from under the hood, like a relay maybe chattering.
Car starts up fine but i fear draining the battery because when I bought it the battery was dead and they threw a new one in it...anyone have any idea

you could be right about the relay, mine makes a click while the lights are flashing when i unlock it, if that's how yours is, then i wouldnt worry.

and unless your battery actually dies on you i wouldnt worry too much about a drain. if it was the factory battery they replaced when you bought yours, those were known to be junk in a fairly short period of time.

Believe it or not, it's almost certainly your aircon recirc motor.

Get in the car, turn the ignition on and wait for the clicking to stop. Turn aircon on, then off again. If it's the recirc motor, the clicking will start almost straight away. It will sound like it's coming from the glove box.

It will click before I even put the key in the ignition... And stop without me even having to start the car though. I'm not sure if it's draining the battery or not... I guess I'll just have to learn the hard way

i have some noises aswell when i open my door also, does it every time i open the door after some time of being shut and i know for a fact it's not the recirc motor.

Can also hear faint clicking coming from the engine bay like a relay opening/closing it's contacts.

I really wouldn't think it is the recirculating motor if the car had not even been turned on... but as the above members have posted... press the recirculation button and see if the clicking begins again.

how rapid is the clicking?
