hey guys,
so no joke its been 3 years since I have been here on SC. so here is my story. My very first car when I was 16 was a 1992 saab 900s with a glossy showroom black finish, two years later I hit a deer and ended up making money on the insurance settlement because of how good of condition I kept the car, I thought I wanted a newer one and ended up getting a 1994 saab 900 v6, I have owned this car for 2 and a half years and just 2 weeks ago I rallied it into a traffick median at 35 mph due to bad weather conditions, this caused costly damage to the camber and subframe/axle, basically the car isnt worth fixing. this has made me miss the sturdy classic saabs and how boss they look when cared for right, I found this on craigslist, I have only ever owned 900's, this is a 9000 what do you guys think http://portland.craigslist.org/clk/cto/2224839081.html

That is absolutely beautiful. There's a simple elegance / purity of line about these early cars and silver, imho, is THE colour it should be. It reminds me so much of the Talledega cars ... and I love the original wheels too! My Birthday is coming up in June if you change your mind and no longer want it

haha well my folks sent me a message on facebook saying they bought it for me, Ill have to pay them back of course but if this is all not just a dream and I do get it I will post pics and possibley video,

Congrats Saabingmad on your unexpected gift.
Indeed, the 1st-gen 9000 had a pure Swedish elegance and simplicity that made the brand such a cult following. But as a gift, maybe it'll make it easier for you to finance it back to them in a more flexible manner. Good luck !

well we ended up getting it down to 1600 but it only has 150k miles and for an 87 thats not much, they also recently replaced and rebuilt the transmission and clutch as well as have records of maintenance every 3k miles, everything that should work works! and its a 4 cyl turbo , I will drive that car till it dies or I get a new one, if i get a new one ill turn that into a rally car for sure

I've still got my first car which is a 1996 Saab 9000 CS and I love it. The 9000's are definitely awesome cars. I am thinking about getting this http://maine.craigslist.org/cto/2232089673.html Does anyone think I could make some money off this? I didn't even know they made a 9000 S. Does anyone know how these cars are?

Hey Saabingmad I'm sorry to hear about your loss but I must say so many Saab models are legendary. I must say the 9000 is one of the models that truly steals my heart I love them!
I see your in Oregon that is cool I was planning to see Jak Stoll up there for some Saab work hopefully sooner than later. When I know I'm going up I'll have to see if you will be on the way or nearby! |

hi 150k for an '87 is that miles or kms oh its us so its miles.look after it and it will be good to you some minor cosmetic repairs and you've an almost new car.my '88 has done over 458k kms and is looking a bit tired but it would still travel safely and well from one side of australia to the other and will be doing that at the end of the year.you have a very nice car, congratulations.love that car.cheers

and since its here in the U.S Spadar I did indeed mean miles and not km's. but 150k miles is acceptable to me, Ill be happy if this car lasts me 2-3 years

hi. it's not that many for the 2.0lt motor-- "some say" (plagiarism!!! here) that these motors are bullet proof, unlike the 2.3lt that tended to do head gaskets and other unmentionables at an early age(distance,etc). having said that by saying, again stolen but true, "love that car".cheers
