Check your Sump for sludge, see if you have any lost boost issues, stock Aero will kill a stock GT mustang from a roll.. Have fun |

Wow man. Do cams make power on these engines or just move the power band? Im coming from the v8 world.

The T5 moves the band higher in the revs. T7 cam tends to fade, with the T5 the car pulls all the way to red line Great $50 upgrade but you lose some low end grunt ( but with a qucik spooling turbo its not that bad so some peopel dont; like em.
My prior tune I noticed it a lot ore but now the car feels like there is not so much lag at 290 WHP and 330 WTq the car is faster than a stock GTO ( it weighs 1000 lbs less) |

right, or go big turbo and make them all cry. stock mustang you would walk and subaru wrx are not fast. STI would be hard to beat if it was modded and supra depending on whats under the hood.

^^^^ THIS.
Before any power mods, before any new tires, before you even Armor-All the interior. Spend $200 and have your oil pan dropped, and have the car checked to see if it got the latest PCV update. Sludge will straight kill your engine, and you'll be looking at a complete engine replacement |

Yea i just took the car to a very highly recommended race shop right near my house to talk to the owner about building the car. He said before he even tunes it he wants me to find out if the timing belt was replaced recently and if not he wants to do that first. After a full check and diagnostic is done THEN we will crack into the cars potential. I built my last car but this one I want to be professionally honed to perfection.

Only some jap car builder would think a 4cyl Saab has a timing belt.. its a chain..... I guarantee you will wast tons of money on a shop that knows nothing about Saabs. Your best bet is to ask on here, and jsust take it in to have what we say done... and don;t listen to mister fast and furious He wil not know anythign about Trioic tuning, for sure... |

Run away! The chain shouldn't need to be touched at 70K miles, even with the moderate power you're planning. Pistons should also be OK at stage 2 Also: you'll probably want to consider replacing the MAF sensor, especially if you're keeping the stock block. |

Oh man, thanks for the heads up guys. Should I be a dick and go back and let him know the car doesnt have a belt? The guy specifically had me pop the hood and told me he knows that engine. Anyone have info on jzw? or suggestions on where I should buy my parts from?

Dude you are jumping into the deep end without your floaties.
There is at least a weeks worth of information on this site and others for tuning your Saab...do your research or you will pay way too much money for tuning. Much of the stuff you can have done much cheaper than back in the day...I think I paid 800 just for Stage 1 tuning 6 years ago. Check out every tuning company and you will get a very good idea what you want to do. Maptune has a really good website for understanding what makes power on Saab's...but they are very expensive... |

Thanks for the advice guys, I contacted JZW and hes going to be the one to do my tune. I still have my old car to get rid of and once the car and parts are sold itll just about pay for my stage 2 entirely.( one way to keep the wife happy...sell old toys for new ones).
On a side not: if anyones interested in an NX nitrous wet kit contact me, 200 bucks |
