Default Turn signal malfunction - 1994 900s

My turn signals were working intermittently and have now stopped altogether. The hazards don't work either. The highbean switch is on the same stalk and that is working fine. The stalk will engage but the lights won't go on and it doesn't show up on the instrument panel either. Could it be the relay switch or do you think I have to replace the entire turn signal mechanism?
I would really appreciate any advice and also info on how to take apart the dash to get at these things...
Thank you!

I'd start by replacing the hazard switch. It "cuts out" the indicators when operated, and it can certainly have a sulk which'll leave you with nothing flashing.

Thank you for replying. I just joined the forum and was excited to see a post to my thread! I will look into what you said but I am not having a problem with the hazard button malfunctioning - it pushes in and pops out as it should which doesn't seem to indicate a switch failure...

Ah, but you don't know what's happening inside it...
