A friend of my brother is having to sell his immaculate fully restored 96 V4. It has come up at the wrong time for me (no cash
His description of work done follows with a few photos. Ignore the wires hanging from the dash, he was half way installing a radio cassette! Anybody any idea what he should be asking? He has spent well over 10k on it, but knows he will not get anything like that back. Of course, if anybody is interested, pm me and I will put you in touch. Description: Work done on Saab 96 V4, white: - recon VEGE engine with lightened fly wheel, dynamic balancing and fast road cams. - recon g/box from Parchington (spelling) - he's an ex Saab man and the best at rebuilding V4 g/boxes. - new front calipers and steel braided hoses. - recored radiator and new hoses. - totally rebuilt body work and respray carried out by Macdonald Classic Cars, finished April 2002. - Anti-rust waxed oiled through out. - Spares - headlights, rear lamps, front grill, rear seat belts, inertia reel front seat belts, g/box. Got all bills to prove above. Garaged over winter under an indoor cover. The car is in immaculate order outside with interior trim in good original condition, except top of rear seat and a 2 small cuts in headlining. |

Nice looking car!
A shame about those emblems on the trunk lid though... the correct ones would have looked eons better. /Magnus |

I know that SAAB V4 restoration company sells fully restored and uprated V4s for £4500 - £5000. However I know someone who bought a concours '72 V4 for £3500 recently.

I personally would say about the £2500 mark if it is really good as it looks like it needs work on the interior. I think you can go up to about £4500 for a real concours car. |
