Default Very loud humming from front end

Over the last couple weeks the car has developed a very loud humm at any speed over ~35MPH. Its drowning the motor out now.

It's sounds like a land rover on off-road tyres.

Hum increases with speed and it's tied to road speed not engine. Accelerating or decelerating makes no difference.

Grappled the front wheels and I dont think its wheel bearings, but havn't been able to jack it up yet.

Tyres are Maxxis MA-V1.

Any ideas?

Loose wheel well liner touching the wheel? How about the plastic cover for the crankshaft pulley? Could that be loose and touching the wheel?

Does the hum change when you turn the steering wheel?

It was the wheel bearing.

Since the post, it got VERY LOUD!!! and weaving on the read made the noise come and go depending on which way the wheel was turned.

So going to work it go EVEN LOUDER!!!!! and started wobbling

Luckily the garage near work got it in and fixed it today. £40 for the bearing and £80 labour including VAT. Which is pretty reasonable.

Grappling as in Wrestling-with

Hey good thing it was just the bearing and a fine shop price as well. Brian at O'EM in Colorado charges $240 flat. I'll be getting my left front replaced soon. Kinda crazy though the right bearing was louder the faster I went, like really loud and this left one well kinda goes away at highway speed, might just be the Saab standard road noise though.

I didn't think a wheel bearing could make so much noise and vibration. Enough to make your teeth chatter and get pins and needles in your extremeties

HmmmmmmMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!

Yeah I'm having the same symptoms and thinks it my driver side wheel bearing as well. I'll have my mechanic check it tomorrow and order the parts if he confirms it.
