Default Clutch Change

Putting in a new spec clutch and new flywheel, as well as the slave cylinder. Doing it myself to save a few bucks. Anyone have a link to a site that has a detailed explanation as to how to do the clutch change? Thanks for the help.

Has spec improved the clutch? I remember last year several people had major problems with them just a few weeks after the install. Genuinesaab even stopeed selling them. I haven't seen much mentioned about them lately.

Checkout Dmitry's site for the clutch change. It's written for a NG900, but you'll get the idea. Or download the WIS; just do a google search on Saab WIS.

Does your car have the Double Mass Flywheel? If so, it's pretty pricey - around $1-k... Ron

Ive done a few, but not for over a year, so its from memory. Basically its not much different than a 95 or earlier 93.

Engine brace across the top bolted to car body suspending engine. I made a big hook to hold under PS pump. Raise on lift. Remove front tires. L & R caliper. One end of both sway links. Remove exhaust. Support radiator and condensor with bungee cord. Remove bolts holding subframe and steering rack and L ball joint. Swing subframe out of way. Remove trans and rear motor mounts. Disconnect and clamp clutch hose. Remove 18s holding trans, pull and lower on trans jack.
