What it says in the title. I saw one the other day. Lower end one, had what appeared to be klingons, but they had to have been 16s - and I don't know that the klingons ever came in 16s. We were in the parking lot and parked next to it; I expressed surprise at the drum brakes and told my wife that I thought it was an '01, and she rolled her eyes and called me a nerd.
At any rate - a 9-5 with rear drums?! Did they actually ship that, or did somebody do some terrible surgery? |

Huh. I'll have to keep an eye out for it. There are quite a few Saabs around here, so...
Actually, that reminds me: My mom has a black 2006 9-3 Aero, and she lives right next to us so she watches my two-year-old son a lot. It turns out that one of the moms at his daycare has a black '06 9-3 as well - though it's a 2.0t. So, we're leaving one day, and my son sees the other Saab, and says, "Gramma's car! Gramma's car!" ... So, he knows what a Saab 9-3 looks like, but he doesn't know the difference between a 2.0t and an Aero. |

Nope, No drum brakes unless you consider the fact that the e-brake actuates like a drum brake with shoes that push on the inside of the rotor hat. They always had disc front and rear. And those wheels that look like Klingons were available on 99 9-5's. I have them on my mom's car as her snow tire setup.

Yeah you may be confusing the relatively large "hat" part of the drum in hat brake design...

Stefan Jacoby lost his job after he equipped the 2011 Jetta with drum rear brakes and torsion beam suspension, Geely picked him up for Volvo, soon to launch a Tata beater rikshaw on 3 wheels. Talk about cause celebre
