Default Engine cut out

The engine on my 2003 aero seems to "cut out" very briefly while driving on the highway and engine fully warmed. I am assuming that this is most likely a throttle body issue and needs to be cleaned? Also, not sure if this is related but, a couple oil changes ago my mechanic tells me that maybe one quart of oil came out during change and that the oil looks very dirty (even shortly after change). I have been monitoring the oil consumption and I am not currently burning much oil between 5,000 mile changes (maybe a quart). Possible turbo failing? No smoke at start.

Thanks for any advice!

The oil in our cars does get very dirty very quickly - strange but not a worry really.

Your cutting out could well be a crankshaft position sensor failing.

I would however start off with a fresh set of correctly gapped NGK plugs!

Replaced the CPS not too long ago. This cutting out is not causing an engine light. I guess I will try the plugs. Not sure how long ago I changed them. What do you recommend?

How frequent do you change the plugs?
