Is yours an SE? I think you should have a Garrett T25. What's your power goal for the car, and what do you want to use it for?

A t25?? So it's not a t5 or t7 like I see everywhere? Yes I think it's an SE.
My power goal? I dont really have one. It's my wifes car, and she likes to hot rod our cars, or should I say my cars, so I just wanna spruce it up some. I'm probably only gonna do a ssqv/DV, intake, MAYBE exhaust, and DEFINATELY tuning. Then I might do a short shifter, and some visual mods to make it look better. My wife just daily drives it and goes on highway trips with it. |

First off, tell her personally that I said she is awesome for wanting to liven up her Saab. It sounds like what you may want to do for her is a stage 1-3 tune. Stage 1 and 2 are pretty modest bumps in power that require little hardware changes, preferably a full 3" exhaust or at least a downpipe, an intake, and the tune. Stage 3 is a gain of about 90hp over stock and that requires the full exhaust, intake, an uprated intercooler, and the tune. The stock clutch may or may not last for long after you've done this. That should be enough to get you started. The search function on this forum has been down for awhile but you can still search whatever you need using Google, just type your keyword + saabcentral. Another useful website is www.ericsaabsite.com , if it still works, and http://photo.platonoff.com/Auto/ . |

Oh i see i see.. so I have a t7 car then. Which means the tune is gonna cost more.
is the DIC the actual engine cover or no? Because the cover has red on it (lol). I'm thinking the stage 1 it's gonna be though; requires the least supporting mods, and is MORE than enough power to really make this car move. Hell, stock I think it scoots along DAMN fine.

1999 should have a trionic 5 engine management system and t25 turbo except for Viggens

If that direct ignition cassette is red it is definitely T5. Meaning you have a Garrett T25 turbo.

I will caution that some people slap a black DI on a T5 because they either have one laying about, or are too cheap to buy a red one. Mine came with a black one and I put it right since I have a T5. This is somewhat common for people to do since the black one mostly works on the T5 (but you can never use a red one on a T7).
