Default 9-5 Can't open luggage compartment

Hi - I can't open the luggage compartment on my 9-5 (2005) either with the key or door switch. I suspect a wiring fault (as has been posted here before). My problem is how do I open up to access the damaged wire - I can't find the emergency release - any ideas where it is?

The emergency release should located on the trunk lid; it's a glow in the dark handle. just crawl in through the back seat into the trunk.

Thanks for the reply - Saab Crazy - I've been in there several times - the only 'glow in the dark' handle is the grab handle for closing the tailgate. I'm in Ireland & it's possible that the Europena version of the 9-5 doesn't have the emergency release - Don't know if that law was introduced here?

You have to get into the boot with a torch and use a screwdriver between the boot lip/bumper seal to move over the latch in the lock. Not sure if the deadlock operates on the boot, if it does you have a problem.

Thanks again Kermit & Saaber95er problem solved. I took your advice Kermit - there are two holes in the latch (visible when you are in the trunk) - a screwdriver in the lefthand one did the trick, the boot opened. Wires damaged as suspected - one broken. Some splicing and shrink wrap later (not one of my neatest jobs!) everything working fine again - see photos
