You don't find the bass a little muddy on those evo's?

I cut them off at 100hz and let these take care of the bass duties:

I'm curious too. The Wharfedale's weren't free, but steeply discounted.

I thought that they came in walnut??

Speakers arrived today, and I'm calibrating (I'll use the spl meter to correct it).

I've got a pair of Wharfedale Modus 8s which I love dearly. They were free, too - some guy's amp died, so he gave away the speakers. Drove up to his house, grabbed 'em off his driveway, and scooted away. At least, I'm pretty sure it was the right house...

For speakers with two 6" drivers they have a massive amount of clean low end. Those plus a *MASSIVE* late '70s Onkyo receiver I got at the Salvation Army for $35 = awesome audio system for $35...

I'd love to invite you to my place and listen to my Totem Arro. 4.5" "bass" drivers ..... bottom end is so real and rich that you'd never believe the size of the driver and the tower it's coming from:

http://6moons.com/audioreviews/totem/arro.html

Too bad they're locked up in a closet at the moment, that is, until SaabKen Jr. is old enough to be restrained from wrecking them
