Default Car Doesn't Start, then does

Someone suggested turning the alarm on and off again, and it worked. WTF? What's wrong with the car? 9-5, 2001. Thanks!

Default Cranks

The car lights come on, the little bell dings, but no crank. Somewhere else I read to lock the car and then unlock it with the automatic alarm thing, and I did and it worked.

i'm gonna take a wild guess and assume you're likely running into problems with the theft alarm. I'd actually remove the module and see if that solves your problem- they are finicky devices that i still don't really understand....

had similar problem but it was associated with nuetral safety switch.

here's a thread on somebody elses experience with the same issue:

http://www.saabcentral.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=143186

pain in the butt but fairly easy fix.

next will be the crank position sensor.

then the leaking coolant valve near firewall.

and last but not least your alarm module will need a new battery and leaky capacitors replaced.

oh, and welcome to the forums!
