Finally got the drag car thrown together. Two evenings to build the motor, intall it and tune on the dyno. Found lots of interesting things along the way. China Bosch -044, B205 Bottom end, twin disk clutch etc. More on that over on http://trolltuner.com
With a little less power than last year and still running that gt3071.64 first run out on the new clutch we ran an 11.26@133.4 Allright! Were on to something there. Track prep was not the greatest. We were slower to the 330 than average. http://www.dragtimes.com/Saab-900-Timeslip-16851.html ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The crank pulley 6mm bolts failed after that and we had to load it up. Got it fixed on the trailer this am. Ride along with the gopro. Other guy was messing with him on the light. He even bogged a bit off the line. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5UxyhZtS_rU

Wow Nick, great time! I wonder if you could pick up .07 sec on a track like 75/80 Drag-A-Way that's kind of downhill. It's the one east of Frederick MD that Motor Week uses. I used to run my '66 Mustang there way back in '66... Ron in Columbus

Here is a little better video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=drLn5x5YTQY

The bumper will be down the road a bit. Plan is to make an aluminum duct for the IC though. Looks like rain in the forecast for this friday. PS compare the times up to the 1/8th mile, that is where the chassis helps.. Its pure power after that mostly. Compared to my street viggen the difference in chassis setup is apparent.

The drag car is tuned close to LBT on those runs. Ignition timing more or less just close. No time to map MBT. (After lots of work before it was close, A couple runs 2 deg apart confirmed.) For whatever reason this setup is much happier on the lean side compared to other motors and other makes on E85 at this specific power. Would make the same power at lambda .9 too..
Here are some of the session runs with different boost control. Just on the spring for the bulk there. #10 is with T7 valve and bit pulled out to get the peak down. But full bypass on spool to get it going. Goal here was finding the right fuel. Pretty consistent though. Left off boost and lots of other data but you get the idea. Maybe now its time to actually build the car close to what I would do for a paying customer...

The Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gjvq2CXoPck
Well it was time after we ran the 11.0 to move up to some real power and quit the nonsense with the gt3071 Second Fuel rail is modified. Machined an adaptor that replaces the regulator and adapts it to a -6 line in a modified rail with -6 inlet only. Steve got the injectors swapped around one morning before the service customers showed up. Looks like it has stock t5 inj and thats all. 8-) The second rail power is managed via relay by nira but for now it is always on. With the small and large injectors sharing one ECU trigger. ![]() This is what it is feeding. ID 1000s in the top rail. Stock t5 in the bottom So with the new fueling giving us some injector overhead a larger turbo was fitted. T3 flange and external 38mm wastegate. Boost managed with a t7 valve by nira. Not a bad number. 620whp. Had more left in the valve but didn't need the power with the 8.5" slicks. ![]() Certainly held boost better. ![]() Turbine backpressure was within 15psi boost max. Thats Awesome since with the 3071.64 and this power it was double boost. On kill it was at least 70psi. ![]() Will get better images as I get a chance. That was where we ended up saturday morning about 2am. Thats a gt40 compressor t3 turbine. 61mm inducer. Still looking at turbos but this was a step in the right direction. Certainly liked the B205. You can also see I machined a P/S delete idler pulley. Used a second stock idler for simple spare availability. Some odd harmonics happen above 8k with the serpentine belt. Battery mount was also repositioned for the next stage..

This is awesome. I don't know the technical stuff too well, but you can tell some sweet stuff is going on.
That Youtube video is great. Can hardly hear the exhaust once you start getting on it on the dyno Really looking forward to seeing the 10 second FWD Saab!!

Found the limit of the axle! Mo-Kan had some BA track prep going on!!!
Iphone locked up after that but you get the idea. The car barely rolled. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cRRn1pfwgDQ Axles out of a 40k 2000 9-3 Hot. Lasted 2 years. Will go back with another for now. Glad it was on the line, that would have been an experience at speed with the axle flopping. ![]() Will get out the macro for some grain shots of the failure when it is pulled out. Popped a wastegate hose off while busting on the dyno to get to the track friday night. So there is certainly a bit left in the turbo. Not so much with the fuel. The map sensors will need upgraded to run this much. ![]() Starting to look nicer too. You can see some room has been made for the next step. ![]() Never got to try this out either. Fully ducted the intercooler to the bumper opening. Should have a decent effect on big end power. Ic is still our bolt on std upgrade! ![]() ![]() Sure will do a heck of a burnout and stage.
