Default Red v. Black DI

Ok, I just want to confirm that there never was a black DI for T5 cars. My recently acquired 99 9-3 came with a black one, and obviously its supposed to be T5. Before I drop the $450 for a red DI, just wanted to make sure that someone (including SAAB) never made a black one for T5.

thx in adv.

No T5 came with black DI's.

You can use a black DI on a T5 tho just not a red on a T7.

Is it possible they swapped in a newer T7 engine... But T5 were always red DIC's they never made black ones.

There's also always the chance someone had a can of black spray paint - any hints of that?

Try to find a used one on the forums. You can pick one up for $100, I think there's one I here that I saw recently.
