Default T25 or TD04 swap?

I was told by my mechanic that i needed a new turbo, and im pretty sure I do, as my car smokes alot while driving heavy or on the highway. I know someone who has a few turbos that i could buy, I have a 2000 Saab 9-3 turbo which i understand uses a GT17 turbo, and the guy has a T25 which came off a saab and a 13 b mitsu turbo which he told me is the same as a TD04 which comes off the aero and viggen. Should I buy the TD04 or the T25? I think with the TD04 all you need is bigger banjos and your good to go, but with the T25 Im not sure if it will work or not.
thanks
