Welcome to the forum Jacob. To be honest, the first ting that I would do with your car is to verify that the timing belt and idlers have been changed. IIRC, the recommended interval is 80-k to 100-k miles. But if your car has less miles, you should still worry because of the age of the belt. This is an interference engine which means if the cams stop turning and the crank continures t turn, one or more pistons will be striking the open valves. Thre have been lots of threads about this problem, but with the search feature inhibited, you might not know about it. Again, welcome to the forum... Ron

Many Xs on what Ron wrote.
The single most important thing is the condition of the timing belt system. These can be troublesome, if ignored, as far too many owners are prone to do.. The "AMP"? On this, I am not sure at all...But at least he did not run over the radio with it still installed in the car.....I trust. Peruse our FAQ on the purchase of a used automobile. The Google search will find many things. Best of luck.

Thanks guys...this isnt my first used car...but i was lucky that the previous owner did switch the belts and stuff out along with all the fluids about 25K ago. I did find out after researching more last night the guy had installed a aftermarket radio in the dash and thats why the previous factory was ran over, which i have but looks real sad lol.
Thanks Guys |

Fortunately, factory radios and amps usually go pretty cheap on eBay, but make sure that you get the cable that connects the two. If the seller doesn't have the radio code, just take the radio down to your local dealer and they can look it up.

I bought a used radio (with the code) on eBay for $50 shipped. It was a good deal.
Just be aware that the amp only powers the 6.5" speakers in the door, so if the previous owner installed an aftermarket unit, the wiring had been modified... Ron |
