Default key fob does not unlock doors

My key fob does not unlock my doors. It does every other function. It activates and deactivates the alarm, the trunk lid unlocks. I have to manually unlock the doors. Is there anything I can do or do I need to go to a dealer to see if they can reprogram it?

Does the other fob work? If you only have one fob, you are gambling that it will never fail with the car alarmed, which can be very expensive to repair... Ron

Ever hear the joke about the man that left his car parked in the street overnight, locked, and with a piano accordion in full view on the rear seat - he comes back in the morning to find every window broken and 14 piano accordions now in the back seat.

My view on this from personal experience is that the car itself is not worth stealing (touch wood) and as such getting the locks fixed on my 6th hand '95 900S convertible is not worth the time and money - you are asking for trouble leaving anything of value in any car whether un/locked so my opinion is make sure there is nothing left in the car and only use the key (if it works) to lock the doors DO NOT use the fob with dodgy immobiliser as this is surely a recipe for a trip on the back of a flatbed to a mechanic with $$ signs in his eyes.

And the glass breaking criminals should spend all of their remaining days playing piano accordions.
But I agree, ditch the unreliable electronics and go mechanical.
