Default aftermarket audio decks-04 9-3

first time forum poster...just bought a 2004 9-3 arc and i want to upgrade the stock radio with an aftermarket audio deck (pioneer with iPod and bluetooth functionality).

Has anyone done this already?
I couldnt find an existing thread
Is there a dash kit for this?
Can I replace the upper stock radio housing unit or replace the lower 6CD changer?

thx, d

1. It's been done
2. No dash kits exist for the 03-06 9-3s
3. There are threads on this and one that is like 40 pages (infamous damn stereo thread)

you can replace the lower cd changer/cd player BUT...

you will basically have to rewire the car... I haven't found any good write ups on this that still have pics. If all you have is an aftermarket headunit and no speakers or amps you are probably better off leaving it as is.

Rockford Fosgate 3sixty.2 and JL Cleansweep are other options you have but both require new speakers and amps I think.

There are plenty of threads on this. Way too many actually. Changing the cd changer requires you do work to the fiber optic cable because the car will not run if there is a problem with it. Changing the head unit is possible but you lose some functions without having it installed plus there is no trim for it. So keep doing your research. You'll find the threads. In the how-to there are a few links for information.
