Default First Mother's day, what to give to my wife?

As some/many of you know, I became a father last year. As such, this is the first time celebrating mother's day with/to my wife. Since my daughter doesn't make macaroni figures just yet; I am looking for advise/suggestions on what a good first time mother's day gift would be....One thing, it needs to be done on the cheap....

Thanks guys.

Those sound like gifts I would want for myself....

She has a nice watch, doesn't really read many books (except on vacations), and would prefer a c900 to a 9-3 any day.
Thanks for the ideas though...

Cook her something amazing and does she like to go to spa's or such things? Get her a day at the spa.. My sister is one of those girls

I always just made my mom a card and when I was little and lived with my parents us kids would make them breakfast in bed.

If you don´t know what the gift is by now, you are doomed!.

Just kidding. Flowers are a usual and welcomed gift over here.

I always give my mom a day of full labor. I (along with my two brothers) mulch all of her gardens... and she has A LOT of gardens too. You could do something like that... if she gardens or needs something done you've been avoiding or don't want to do. Or got to the place she gets her nails done (if she does) and get her a gift certificate for something extra there. Spa gift card? Make a photo album about you and her making your new family, with pictures of her along the pregnancy, her and the new born, and then pictures of you and your kid as the baby grows.

Just some ideas.

Day at spa can't fail. I always get my wife that, regardless if it's for her b-day, Mother's Day, Christmas, etc. Like our Saabs, women always have something that needs servicing (hair, nails, face, feet, "trimming") at the shop, er, I mean spa

Good one. And ironically, since your Mom gave you a full day (or more) of labor.

Oh, God, I'm suffering from the same problem here. Stargate SG1 box set would be welcomed but as much a present for me as her... She doesn't wear watches...

Photo album is a good idea though. I did one of my son's first five months for Christmas a year and a half ago, and it was a hit.

Jewelry is tough... she likes it, but knows exactly what she likes. Buying a necklace for her is like her buying a laptop for me; how the hell are you supposed to know?

I wish she liked flowers, it would be easy...but she does not....to quote her, "they don't make sense, they die and you get nothing"....BTW, she is not a *****...

I will have time in the future to do that...this is the first one and I don't want to start with that.

Well, I have to say that I was asking her about what was appropriate...i.e. she always says that the rug/floors are dirty. So, if I give her a broom it would be mean, but if I give her one of those roomba automatic vacuums it would be nice....riiight?

Problem is, those Roombas suck (pun not intended) at getting the room clean even after repeated rounds.
