Thanks in advance for all the help and advice:
I would like to cut off my factory exhaust tips (linear) where they make a 90 degree turn and install aftermarket tips. I want the tips to be flush with the valance after cutting out a hole and installing the decor kit (genuine saab). I am hoping that someone on this forum is familiar with or has done this before. Rob--Did you use 3" exhaust tips? The blue saab with the magnaflow used 3" tips and it seemed to be a tight fit.?

I have 4" and they fit fine so the 3" should have no problem. They also fit the v6 skirt that I bought. I still can't decide if they look too big tho.

3in. the one with the magnaflow doesn't have the trim kit IIRC, thats why it looks tight

picked these up on ebay for $45 shipped for the pair. i can't wait to do this to my muffler too. i can only hope it will end up sounding like interceptors. Last edited by tab0227; 06-04-10 at 08:07 PM. |

Tab--The magnaflow tips are sweet and I was gonna go with those, but I have actually found the saab tips with saab logo for $47.00 (pair including shipping). I found the decor kit for $34.00.

finally finished my little project today...still need to get the decor kit on though. exhaust shop set them a bit further out than i asked, but only paid $25 to have them cut off the bend and weld on the new tips, so i'm not complaining. i definitely think it looks nicer, but i dont notice any sound differences (not that i really expected to). i'm satisfied with the look, and i've never been fond of the sound of aftermarket exhausts on 4 cylinders anyway.

on second thought...think it would be a major deal to get them pushed in an inch or so?
...or am i just obsessing? |

i would see what it looks like once you get the decor kit installed. Looks good, but from that angle I would move it back slightly, even if it costs you another couple bucks.
