Question Replacing Saab Emblems with Custom Badges

Today, while washing the 9-3, the hood emblem started peeling. So I took it off, and found an ugly indent in its place. This has to be filled quickly.

My car is the last year with the Saab/Scania emblems (2000 model). I don't really want to invest in any of these anymore. I could either upgrade to the new Saab emblems, or go custom (black background, or different design).

I've seen some interesting custom emblems here, but could not find the sources of them (links were usually dead). eBay hasn't been of much help, either, as most custom emblems there are for the wheel centers only, or for hoods of later models with larger emblems.

Is there a supplier who makes matching interesting sets of hood, hatch AND wheel center emblems for our cars?

Or someone who can make a set of custom ones with my beloved moose?

Last question: How is the 9-3 hatch emblem attached - are there any indents or holes hidden underneath? This is a 2000 9-3 5-door hatchback.

There was a thread within the last week that contained several good replacement badge links. Do you use the Search function just above the forum (between New Post and Quick Links)?

I tried that, but couldn't find a recent thread about it. Do you remember any more details - the thread title, maybe?

I went to a local sign maker and told him what I wanted. He went online, got the Saab logo, made it black and printed them in vinyl to fit my badges. I then used Emblem armor for protection and they are flawless after 3 years. $5 each (plus armor)

Someone was doing them over on TSL..choose your background color, material, design etc. and he made them. I haven't seen that thread in a long time but I'm sure someone could dig it up and contact him.

Abdukted did vinyl emblems for a while as well. I had the black/silver on my 9-3 and they looked good.

I don't know if he has any more or not, though. I sent him a PM and haven't gotten a response.

I already made my own... a bit more subtle.

But they don't replace hood or hatch emblems...

a few i ordered them for my 900 and got my 93 before i got them and the rear emblem is alittle smaller so i had to cut it abit. second the stock badges are rounded the rear ont fit nice but the front one for some reason creased because the flat sticker on the rounded badge. that being said im sure you can do it but i was in a hurry and paid for it also i had the rear badge off my car and when i put it back on it is a tad crooked and lastly put a clear emblemarmor or clearcoat on them because thie dirts gets on them and dosnt come off

Got my new decals in and I'm very, very happy with how they look. They got here extremely fast and the quality is top notch. Take a look.

Up close you can see the old emblem because it is embossed, but in the light it looks great and you can't really see it.
