On my way to get a car wash - looks like now I'll need more than that.
Honda was coming out of a private building cutting across two lanes to make a left turn. Luckily no one was injured. Saab runs fine, checked under the hood no major mechanical damage as far as I can tell. Drives okay but I have a hanging bumper. I'll *hit* up a body shop Monday to have it looked at. headlight and fog lights still work. The hood is dented in - not sure how they'll fix it. See attached pics. shaker-93. |

Gutted, lower valance looks recoverable, try and keep that spare and get a new one on their insurance!

Make sure you check the mounting points for the lights, main & fog, for cracks since those tend to go pretty easily and insurance adjusters like to claim "Yeah... It's ok... Those are just minor stress cracks" and then your headlight falls out a couple of months down the road.
If you play it right you could wind up buying yourself a lot of nice new hardware after this fender-bender. Assuming the insurance company springs for new parts and you take the time to do some junkyard hunting you could be golden. |

Everything should be replaced with brand new or reconditioned parts.
If not, then something's wrong. sh itty insurance. |

I'd edit that one pronto... the mods are going to come down on that one when they see it... minor ones they don't really mind but that one... well... you get the idea

I'm glad everyone was ok. Sorry about the damage to your 9-3. Some drivers are just so stupid and inconsiderate.
Honestly though, I had a completely different idea in my head when I read this thread title. It reminded me of my Garage!!!!! ![]() .. |

Glad you are okay!
its his fault so his insurance should cover everything and i don't think you would have to get any thing refurbished (you shouldn't have to!!) |

Thanks guys. It sucks but it happens. First accident in 10 years so it was bound to happen statistically. Glad I was in my safe Saab when it did. Driving it now with the broken headlight etc makes it look less classy but gives it an aggressive look.
I'll make sure they do in-fact replace with new parts and don't just do a patch job. I was recommended to go to Turpin since they have an adjuster on site. If anyone in the Ottawa area has any recommendations I'd appreciate it. ** Honda driver was nice enough. I don't think he realized it was his fault either. It's really worse for him, his damage is much more (although probably cheaper to fix), he got a ticket (which will jack up his insurance here in Ontario) - and he is at fault (which will jack it up even more). Plus he didnt have a full graduated license only a G2. So I don't want to know how much he'll be paying for this in the years to come through insurance premiums. |

I think Saabs tend to have lower insurance premiums. I have full tits up two-way coverage:
0 deductibles 2 mill liability first at fault accident free (ie no premium increase) covers rentals, theft, vandalism, flats etc. 116/month I know this isn't the right thread for this but: Vtune ordered! I'll have a review in the upcoming weeks. |
