Hi everyone
I have an '05 Aero with Halogens and can't identify why my headlights, with brand new PIAA bulbs, would still be different colors. One side has more of the bright-white-blue tint and the other closer to a standard yellow (they're the PIAA bright whites). Once installed, I noticed the color difference and switched the bulbs to verify that it wasn't the bulbs - it appears to be the housing. Common? Did a PO install a different housing? They don't appear to be dirty, fogged, or hazy. Any ideas? I searched for this minor problem and after about 15 pages my head started to hurt. |

It could be a slight hazing that occurs on the eye of the projector over time due to sunlight, its not obvious when they're off but makes a noticeable hue change when the lights are on. My driver side headlight has this and looks a little off compared to my passenger side which is crystal clear. It could also be that the projectors are angled differently to illuminate the road, yet not glare into on coming traffic. And because the projector causes a spectrum of light type effect on the cutoff, you could be seeing this bluish cutoff on the one lamp, and while the other lamp is angled slightly different, you don't get this blue cutoff effect from where you look at your lights.

Thanks, ZENITH, that actually makes perfect sense. I think I'll try to realign them first then check into cleaning the projector lens (which is a massive PITA).

Well the headlamps being not perfectly aligned is intentional. The driver's light shines slightly to the right side of the road and dipped more than the passengers which is up higher to keep the driver's side light from shining into oncoming drivers' faces. And yes cleaning the projector is a pain, and Im still not sure on a way to do it easily. But be assured from more a distance (compared to drivers seeing your vehicle to you looking at it up close) both the lights will give off that bluish tint until they get up very close.
