Default All you dual exhaust guys...question on passenger side muffler

So I was about to order my magnaflow mufflers and resonator when I took a look under the car during lunch today for fitment. On the passenger side I've noticed that there is a complete sheild there protecting that area of the undercarriage. I didn't even realize it was there before. Is it easily removed? It looked like it was a pretty big piece that would leave quiet a hole but I'm not sure. Any help on that? I've been trying to find some undercarriage shots of guys with dual exhaust but no luck yet.

Steve, thats awesome. Thank you. I belive I need the R/H heat shield to replace what I have on the side. I looked at this picture (sorry its so massive. Its not mine so I cant resize it). But it seems like I need part 17 to replace the shield on the R/H side of my car. I hope thats right.

That looks about right, below are the parts which come with the Hirsch dual exhaust, heat shield included.

Yeah it seems like that would be whats needed. I'm not getting the rear piece tho. I'm just going to cut mine since I'll be color matching it to the car as well. I'm going to check stateofnine for the heat shield. Anywhere else you think I could find it cheap?

:edit: cant find it on stateofnine. The saab site wants $670 for the shield?!?! Joking? Theres no way this thing should be that expensive....

Wait did you contact your local dealer? I'll have to try to contact one around here. While I'll probably be perfectly fine without the sheild I just want to make sure. I might be tucking the mufflers a little higher so may need them.

:edit: I called my local dealer and they wanted over $700 for it...How did you find it for $80? If its part no 12791417 then maybe you'd be willing to work with me and let me pay you to get it and ship it to me.

i'm in the uk..had to contact over a different matter, but asked for price of that pt no while i was on to them...

i'm guessing that price at the saab site should more like $64.02 & not $664.02

that's why i suggested contacting them

Nope no mistake on price here... what would it cost to ship something like to to me here in the states? Bet it will be cheaper still buying it state side. Any chance you'd help me out?
