Aftermarket Head Unit

Has anyone had any luck with aftermarket head units, like a 7" touch sceen, I would like to install one on my 07 9-3.

Steve, what did you have to do in order to not disrupt the CAN bus or lose functionality like the indicator clicking and other warnings? Is your SID still fully functional?

With the 2007+ cars, the GM/Saab headunit does not generate warning chimes or indicator sounds, etc.
Removing the headunit results in loosing the cars clock, which means that time for service always displays '---' instead of time left and estimate time to arrival function displays '---' the rest of the car functions completely as normal.
Steering wheel audio controls no longer control anything in my setup, but I believe there is now an adapter available to incorporate steering wheel controls into the aftermarket setup.

there are several available

I have one fitted to my Kenwood

do a search on canbus adaptors

Mine controls volume and changes tracks
but in theory a full canbus adaptor should be able to transfer the phone functions as well
