Default I hate people/ ebay

Want to share with you something that really got me angry today - I have recently listed some gaming items on eBay. One of them is a set of 6 pin badges of Legend of Monkey Island - which I got at E3 (I been making video games for 10 years). These are not for sale outside of E3 and the last few sets sold for $60 on eBay.

Unfortunately mine only sold for $15 - maybe not the right people was looking for it. In any case I posted them to the Canadian buyer as soon as he paid. So far so good right? Well I just received a eBay rating - while positive, he labelled me as 'unreasonable postage cost' and only B+.

How can the postage be unreasonable when my postage to him was only $6??? I carefully wrapped each badge individually to prevent danage, then put them in a hard box and added foam paddings - I take pride in packing well. The USPS postage is $2.79, the box cost $2.49. Is he accusing me of over charging him for just a few cents???! Some people are really ungratefu *******sl. He didn't realuse how much of a bargain he got the badges to start with!

This really pisses me off - it might affect my future eBay deals as buyers will see that and assume I over charge.

What's worse is I can't even leave him a negative feedback - eBay's new policy of Buyer be the king is stupid. I'm going to leave eBay and use Amazon Market place instead.

In any case in the 'positive' feedback I left for him I added 'Ungrateful buyer.'...

Well bad vendors mis-used the feedback option to 'get even' with buyers they scammed. Years ago I bought a motherboard off eBay - the motherboard that was shipped to me was NOTHING like the one that I bid on, and had bad capacitors to boot. I contacted the seller several times then left NEUTRAL feedback with a note to the effect of "sent wrong motherboard, maybe an oversight" and within an hour had NEGATIVE feedback from that seller. WTF? I paid minutes within the auction's end. How could that douchebag possibly leave me negative feedback? He offered to retract the feedback if I retracted mine. I said hell no.

I just bought Windows 2003 Server Std. off of eBay - the Windows was counterfeit. The CD label was a hologram sticker (not pressed), the disc was a CD-R, and when I booted it up it was Windows XP. I am going to be leaving neutral feedback again, with a note "product was not as advertised" but I made eBay aware that the vendor is selling counterfeit Windows through eBay.

I've had great experiences through eBay as well - I just bought a Saab key and it was exactly as pictured and described. I'm definitely going to give positive feedback on that seller.

It goes both ways - good sellers gets screwed by un-reasonable buyers or those who wants to free load stuff - I've had items returned to me damaged and scratched. SO now I refuse all returns.

You can't just put all the voting power in buyer hands.

I've had bad luck both ways, too. I offered to take back an item that I sold that didn't work correctly for the buyer, but she never responded and left me negative feedback instead. That really ticked me off. For the most part, I've had good luck buying things on eBay, but I've always shied away from buying software or computers there. It really is amazing how variable the selling prices can be. A while back I sold a pretty cool Japanese cell phone and barely got $100 for it, and then a couple of months later, the guy I sold to reposted it and used my same description and pictures and got almost double that.

Whenever I sell something on eBay I always try to be reasonable with S&H charges... I usually look to see what other sellers charge for the same thing and then set mine a little lower. I don't think that when you set the S&H you should be setting it for the exact postage, you do have to buy a box, pack the item in it, drive to the post office, etc... that's what I consider "handling". It's too bad the buyer didn't contact you before leaving neutral feedback, you could have explained to him what a bargain he got and how much the S&H cost you so maybe he wouldn't have felt overcharged.

I just recently bought a phone on eBay and the seller took photos that hid the aesthetic issues. When he took a picture of the back of the phone he used the flash so that all the scuff marks were washed out, and when he took a picture of the front he did it from far enough away that you couldn't see the scratches. I feel like leaving neutral feedback just because the phone was not as pictured (IMO).

Personally I never complain about Shipping and Handling. If it is unreasonably high I do this crazy crazy thing: DON'T PURCHASE IT.
