Default Changing upper mount

Need to change my upper motor mount (above the serpentine belt) on my 2000 Aero but would like to know where the best place to support the engine before removing the bracket.

jack it up under the oil pan with a block of wood for an extra few inches of clearance.

The bolts themselves aren't to blame ... using impact tools and sockets designed for that helps a lot.

Someone must have done you no favors when they removed/replaced the yoke bolts earlier. The four bolts securing the yoke to the engine are only to be tightened to 35 ft-lbs. The main center bolt receives 80 ft-lbs. It sounds as if some gorilla used an impact wrench to tighten these bolts.

Was it the three bolts which secure the motor mount can to the inner fender? These are to be tightened to only 35 ft-lbs too.

They likely were factory installed and may have been secured with loc-tite.
