Default 18T turbo upgrade!

Nick at genuinesaab has released it.
I'll be emailing him shortly about custom tuning for the upgrade plus whatever mods already done to the car.

Finally a reason to keep my car...

That's a pretty good price too. I wonder when the tune is going to be ready. The turbo doesn't do any good without a tune for it.

PERFECT! i have been hunting high and low for the right TC upgrade.

i presume it's a 'bolt-on' with no modifications needed to the engine mounting. yup, for the price, much cheaper than the other branded sources found on the web.

you guys are much luckier than i do where geographical locations are concerned wrt Nick...

cheerios....

you do with Vtuner, 19T uprgade. His package comes with all the stuff you need instead of just the turbo hence the price

Price is $600 plus a $450 core charge that gets refunded to you after you send in your old turbo or just $600 if you send in your turbo first. The latter will require a much longer waiting period.

It does require a tune in order to function properly, I wouldn't boost it without a tune... for 2.0T's (the opposite of t) it looks like we don't need injectors yet. But I would imangine to run higher then 300whp safely we will.

He already does ecu tune's through the mail, very great tunes so I've heard. I'm emailing him about building a custom tune for customers who already have a DP, exhaust, and intercooler to add on to this turbo upgrade.

I'm sure nick will chime in here eventually, I'm no spokesperson for him or his company... just a satisfied customer excited about his new product

Nice, now if he will only release a tune to go with it. However i also wonder if this would work with maptun stage 5? IIRC it uses the 18T, so if Nick does not have a gas tune (for those of us with no E85 near by) yet then perhaps that will be an option. Then of course there will be T8 suite once the communication with the ECU gets figured out.

you'll have to create your own map and tune with the T8 suite though...

and it also depends what else you need for maptun's stage 5 tune

For some reason maptuns website is blocked here (USCG base) otherwise i'd look, but I believe aside from the obvious (turbo, DP, exhaust, intercooler) it calls for larger injectors and an intake. Also maybe a clutch? however I think that more or a precautionary thing.

As for T8 suite, I don't know about where you live, but a lot of the shops around here charge $60-$80 an hour for dyno tuning. (I get a discount at a friends shop $40 per hour) so assume max of $80 per hour at 4-5 hours ,starting from scratch, you're looking at what $320-$400 for a dyno tune, thats not too bad. Cheaper than a store bought tune and probably better AFR's (no offense Nick/forum tuners)

you'll need to open up your exhaust before performing a turbo upgrade, or else your gonna be pushing more air through the already restrictive exhaust... not really gonna be worth the hassle

Your going to need the same thing everyone else needs... Down pipe, full exhaust, intercooler, injectors, and a tune.

On another note: Maptun uses the 16T not the 18T, so I'm no sure that would work out for this turbo.

you probably need higher pressure lines as well from a 2.0T
