Where to buy CHF 11S or CHF 202 power steering fluid

OK, need to top up my power steering fluid and can't find the recommended CHF 11S or CHF202 locally. Any ideas where I can buy some or what might be equivalent?

Pep Boys, Advance Auto, Autozone..... Genuine Saab, EEuroprts, the Saabsite

Try S-G next time you need some specialty fluids. Their stores often have an entire wall of Pentosin fluids. Their prices on Total/Elf motor oil are lower than Mobil-1 at WalMart too!

For readers not in the Detroit area, I have found CHF11s on eBay at low prices.

CHF11s is a synthetic hydraulic fluid which was recommended/specified for the power steering systems in the 9-5 when the car was introduced. CHF202 is a newer fluid made by Pentosin which is the replacement for CHF11s.

The Prestone stuff is probably mineral oil based and is not to be used in our SAABs.

I personally would worry that there is.

Even if you can't get it at PepBoys etc, www.eeurparts.com will ship you a quart of the official stuff that's good for years of topping up.

I don't think any of the chains carry the fluid nor do they carry any special fluids. I know they don't have the VW/Audi coolant or tranny fluid. They don't have any of our tranny fluid either (JS3309 and AW-1).

The only special fluid I've seen is the Honda power steering fluid.

For some reason these chains don't feel the need to stock any of these items. Either too slow moving in sales or the manufacturers are trying to keep them at the dealers.

Just got some of this for a power steering fluid replacement at a VW dealership. CHF-11S

No idea why my 2006 Aero needed PS fluid but it did! Was making a good amount of noise.

Bought CHF 11S at NAPA for $20.95 for 1 liter.

Mine too but no evidence of a leak underneath. However, I do see a small amount around the cap occasionally. I wish I knew what was going on. But we don't have the same contamination o-ring problem the 2.0's have as our pumps are belt driven, not cam driven.


Mine was only $17 a year ago. Inflation!!

Ok, enlighten me. What does the 03-4 O ring issue have to do with PS fluid leaks?

If your seeing oil or fluid around your cap it's because your power steering pump seal is shot.

Fair enough Jon, Seal not O-ring I apologize for my incorrect term. I hope I didn't confuse anyone since we were talking about 06+ Aero (V6) PS pumps.

Now enlighten me, how is a failing seal on a belt driven pump (not cam driven) causing it to over flow?

Mine seems to use a bit as well. Some sort of sticky stuff around the cap but is normal I was told.

I bought some CHF 11S at a VW/Audi dealer a couple of years ago as well.
