I recently turned in a leased 07 9-3 SportCombi Ice Blue Anniversary Edition w/manual transmission to a dealer in NJ. I really liked that car for its looks and practicality. I did an Autotrader search to see where it was going to turn up and it ended up on a CARMAX lot in Fredericksburg, VA.
If anyone is interested, during that time I had it, it only had one minor issue and that was the steering wheel volume control was replaced. The car has brand new tires (about a month old) and brand new rear brakes. I take the train to work so I never drove it as a “commuter” car. I scratched up the bottom of the front spoiler but you cannot see it unless you really looked underneath. Not sure if CARMAX would fix that. Besides that the body is in excellent condition and all maintenance was up to date. As for my driving style with the manual, I am the type that will use the brakes more to slow down than down shifting so I can safely say that I don’t beat on the clutch. Like-wise with the engine. I would have definitely bought it after the lease end but GMAC (as everyone knows) would not renegotiate on the buyout price which I think was 22.7K. |

Hi, I have the exact same car except mine is auto. So GMAC wouldn't budge even $1? And this is normal for them?
I was hoping to buy mine out, but at a much much low than the stated price. Did you suggest an amount? Seems odd that they won't even try. |

However you are located in Canada and the rules might be a little different for you. Hopefully some Canadian members can help out here. |

They won't negotiate the price with you, but they let it go for a song at Auction or to the Dealer so they can write off the difference as a loss.

GM would take a loss? That doesn't sounds right. JK... Ron

You are totally correct. I will NEVER EVER EVER BUY from a dealer again for this reason. They rather send a car to auction, than give YOU a good deal. They are totally braindead. They all deserve to go out of biz. |

That is odd. Oh well, I guess I will either have to look for it to turn up on some dealer's lot or buy a different but similar car. There seems to be plenty of used Saabs to choose from around here.
Of course, GMAC may change their tune if Saab is no more. |
