Good luck, and remember there is an airbag in the passenger side.

Yeah i know... It comes with it

So now i have an xtra air bag that i could play with.... You know there is a tiny bit of jet fuel that causes the Air Bag to explode on impact...

The 2004 Dash airbag is compatible with the 2003 Dash

Along the carbon fiber theme a few people in the 9-3SS forum have been using this to good effect: http://neffywrap.com/

It's not jet fuel, silly. The propellants in airbags are powder-forms of sodium azide and potassium nitrate. Jet fuels are kerosene-based. I think you should leave the airbag right in your old dash and sell it to make up for your costs in switching to the black one.

The neffywrap stuff does look really nice. I would probably try it on my 9-5 if it weren't for the built-in air vents in the dash panel. I don't see how I could make a clean cut there and have it look decent.

I ripped the silver dash out of my tan interior because it looked completely out of place. Then I bought a standard wooden one on ebay and installed it. Looks much nicer (more classy) and it actually PUT about $75 in my pocket all said and done.

I've painted the dash in another car I've owned.

I'd spend $1K on CF but only if it was for a bike frame or wheels.

To each his own though. Everyone has their 'crazy hobby'.

Good luck on that dashtop replacement. I do NOT envy you trying that. Swapping the regualr dash panel was a big enough PITA for me!

Pfft. The paddle shifters are a fun novelty but are no replacement for a stick and a clutch. My next Saab will surely be a manual. I settled for the Aero auto and I regret it.
