Question Replacement key shell?

Would anyone have a replacement key shell they would be willing to part with for relatively cheap?

The dog didn't like it so much. Fortunately, the electronics are good; it still works!

you can actually use a used key over ebay? I had a bad experience about this because I bought a used key for an 03 to 05 9-3 and it didn't work because the mechanic explained to me that once the key was programmed to a CIM, its done.. you cant use it anymore. I don't know if you are talking about the shell only or the key itself...

Shell. As you discovered, once a key has been programmed, it can no be reprogrammed to another car. In the case of the original poster, he can buy a used key online and move the electronics from his key into the "new" key shell.

I think the OP was pretty clear in his first sentence.... "Would anyone have a replacement key shell...."

Make sure you ask if the picture is representative of the key you will recieve. I ordered one a few weeks ago and it was heavily used and not much better than the one I was trying to replace. I sent it back and ordered one from another guy who said the picture was the actual key. It should be here in a few days.
