Default Service Stabilitrak Light

Hmm.. Just as i was saying in a different post today, I just went to the store and as I was backing out of my parking spot, my Service Stabilitrak light came on. I drove out of the area, stopped at a light, and turned off the car. The message went away.

Anyone else have this issue?

I had it come on once on the interstate during a long trip. After a restart, the light went away and didn't come back. I think it happens when the computer gets information it doesn't understand. In my case, I think a sustained high cross-wind may have done it.

My SUV did the same thing so the next time it happened I used OnStar and had them run a diagnostic. They found the throttle position sensor was faulty. Took it to the dealer and they also had to replace the steering wheel position sensor and Yaw sensor. It costs 800 to get it all done. So far no lights.

I wonder if that would be covered under my warranty. I'll have to look into that. I also don't use the onstar service. I Would just have to take it in to get it looked at.

Thanks for the reply

Should be covered if you're still within your bumper to bumper warranty. If not, like me then you have to shell out the bucks to get it fixed.
