Lamin-x Tinted Tail Lights (PICS)

My Lamin-x arrived today so I thought I would share some pictures with you all (granted they are from a blackberry).

I started by tracing the tail lights, and clear strip (reverse/turn signals) and making templates of each. Then, I cut the tint into the approximate shape of the tail lights, and taped the clear strip "piece" onto the tint. I used an exacto knife to carefully cut around the template, and they were ready to go on! FYI- I ordered two 9x30 sheets of "tint" shaded tint- this is the lightest shade they offer. (Didn't want it so dark I would get pulled over, just a little less red)

looks good man. it looks very clean since you didn't do the reverse strip. now i know what my car would look like with tinted tails, thanks

So do you just lay the lamin-x over the outside of the taillight?

did the same on my mustang, but went darker than you both lol...no attention from cops, and ive had plenty behind me also...do not fear the tint fellows...as long as its visible from 500ft its legal, atleast around here

your guys cars look great...makes me wanna tint the saab lights!

Yes, it just goes directly on the light cover.

We have almost identical cars...I went with the R-Vinyl stuff from Ebay and a little darker.

Nice! Do you have an Aero badge on the rear?

I also used a little left over tint on the red stripe of the BSR badge to better match the lights!

No I got the black Saab ones...btw I have 2 extra black badges if anyone is interested (1 with white backing and 1 with the chrome backing)

Man, I am sooo on the fence with the whole tinted tail light thing!

On one hand, they can look really sharp!

On the other, I have a black car with dark tint including windshield and have seen plenty of waaaay overdone black on black on black vehicles around town. I dont fancy myself as Batman, and I am hesitant to have my car resemble a batmobile cuz going too crazy with black/tinting looks a bit silly IMO

Thoughts?


edit: if you have a black car w/tinted tails, pls post pics so I can get idea of what the various shades might look like. Thx
