Default Winter Tires

After I fix my darn e-brake, my next order of business is to get a good set of winter tires. As I am going to school in Binghamton and have early classes every day, I figure my all seasons really aren't going to cut it. I have been looking at tires and these seem to be the best studless tires for "deep snow" which is what I am worried about more so than ice. Gotta love upstate/west New York winter!

I would suggest that you read through the winter tire thread here in the lounge ... lots of good info.

Agreed. That winter tire thread should be stickied, if it isn't already.

And Xedus, the Blizzaks are great for icy, slushy conditions but for deep snow, you'd likely want a more open tread pattern. The Gislaved NordFrost or Nokian Hakkapellita tires are amazing in deep snow, but pricey...

Haha, oops. I had posted my winter tire review in the summer/all season thread. I copied it to the winter thread. I REALLY like my Toyo Observes.

I had Dunlop WinterSports M3s and really liked them. They did quite well here in Michigan.

Let's keep the tire comments in the individual tire threads ... it is a lot easier for everyone that way.

[added]: ....... which is this thread
